As our taste in vehicles changes, so do our choices of accessories for those vehicles.  Add to that fact the increasing popularity of bicycling in the last several years, and it’s not too surprising that hitch mount fold-down Bicycle Racks came along.  It is a great concept in carriers that makes taking your bike on the road with you when you travel – long distance or across town – a little easier.

An example of this is Topline’s receiver mounted fold down bike rack system.  It will transport 2 bicycles of any size and style – sport or leisure – and holds them by the wheels and crank, features common to all bikes.  Another nice feature of these Bicycle Storage Racks is the low wheel mount, which makes loading and unloading easier.  And when you need to get into the back of your automobile or truck, the system folds down to allow easy access.

As Bike Car Racks go, the receiver mounted fold down system seems to be the most practical, but it does require a trailer hitch, which leaves a majority of us out in the cold.  If you don’t have a hitch assembly, there are many styles of trunk and deck mount carriers that will fit just about any make or model of vehicle.  However, if you take your cycling seriously, or if you refuse to travel without your bike, it may be worth the investment to have a hitch assembly installed.  It is a simple process and most vehicles aren’t aesthetically affected by the addition of this accessory.
