Why My Dog and Her Flea Tick Me Off

Allow me to share a story about my dog, and why her and her Flea Tick me off.  You see, I have examined this dog thoroughly, and can find no evidence of flea infestation.  But while I lay in bed at night, dreaming of laying on some tropical beach, I am awakened by this animal as she scratches, bites, and licks herself to sleep.
I refuse to take her to the vet, so he can charge me a wad of cash to tell me she has a “skin condition”, or sell me exotic sounding Flea Medicine that will force me to re-mortgage my home.  I don’t feel comfortable using toxic flea shampoo, because it seems like overkill.  She wears a flea collar, but I think her flea has learned to live with it.  I actually have a flea collar on my cat now too, in the event that my dogs flea decides to relocate.
I don’t know if I’ll try any other medications, because my dog is like me.  We don’t like to risk our health with meds that blast away our pests – in her case; fleas and ticks – in mine; germs and bacteria.  But at some point, I’ll have to break down and do something or give up on sleep altogether.
I’ve decided that, next time I’m grooming my dog (and her flea), I’ll apply a Flea Treatment like advantix, which is a product that not only kills fleas, ticks, and mosquitoes, but repels mosquitoes before they bite.  This will ease my dogs fear of getting heartworm, and it’s a protection that frontline does not provide.  Maybe she’ll sleep better at night, and dream of laying on a tropical beach too.
So who needs a veterinarian?  I’ll treat my dog and her flea this weekend, and her flea won’t know what hit him.
